Five for Friday

It's Five for Friday time with Doodle Bugs Teaching!

My week started off with back to back baby showers!
My husband and I had so much fun celebrating the upcoming birth of our first child
with all of our friends and family.

Baby shower number one was thrown by my best friends from school.
It was a Very Hungry Caterpillar theme.

Isn't this caterpillar made of diapers so cute?!

The cake was both adorable and delicious!

Baby shower number two was thrown by my family.  The theme was Once Upon a Time.

The cake was so pretty and very tasty!

The cookies were adorable!

We wrapped up our unit on contractions this week.
The kids and I made several anchor charts together.

The anchor charts are hanging in our classroom
and are some of the kids' favorite charts to read when they are at Read the Room station.

The kids practiced reading contractions by playing the Chocolate Covered Contractions game.
Two game boards are included but, we just used the cards (printed in gray scale).
It was so cute to watch their expressions when one of them would pull a Yum! card.

I got to meet my long term substitute this week!  I was getting a little worried because it was taking a long time to find someone to take care of my class.  I am so relieved now!  She is willing to come in and spend a week with us and is very eager to take over for me.  I think my kiddos are in good hands!

My hospital bags are packed and ready to go.  We are so ready to meet this little one!

Have a great night!

Currently 2015

I'm a day late, but here we go anyway!

It's time for another Currently with Oh' Boy 4th Grade!

Oh the life of a dog!  She's not really supposed to be on the couch, but I can't help it!  I love snuggling with her!

This year, my husband was actually home during most of my break.  We got to spend Christmas day together AND ring in the New Year together!  I'm so used to him being away during this time of the year.  Guess that's the life of a pilot's wife!

Is it lunchtime yet?  My niece made some delicious Zuppa Toscana soup for us last night AND she shared the recipe with me!  I may not need to get my fix at Olive Garden anymore.  Now, if I can just figure out how to make those garlic bread sticks.

I love putting up all the decorations but taking them all down is another story!  Any takers?

It's Friday before we have to go back and reality is starting to set in!  I need to get up off this couch and get prepared to go back.  Thank goodness the kids don't come back until Tuesday.  Hopefully we don't get stuck in meetings all day Monday and actually have time to prepare for their return!

With my first baby set to arrive in February (Thank you Lord for answering our prayers!!), I definitely need to start getting more organized!  I've been really wanting to start running.  When I get the okay, my goal is to start and bring baby along!  I've been enjoying my time off...how about one more week?  I wish!

Now it's you're turn to link up.  Just click here.

Happy New Year everyone!
